Shaped by Pain
From the age of twelve to twenty, I pursued my dream of becoming an equestrian athlete. When an injury forced me to let that dream go, I chose not to remain in disappointment. Instead, I designed a protective leg guard for my horse, Vicky, who had suffered alongside me.
For a horse, a leg injury can end an entire life. I wanted to protect more than a limb—I wanted to protect a future.
That experience shaped my purpose as a product designer. I design to prevent pain, protect possibility, and help everyone—human or animal—hold on to the lives they love, even when unexpected circumstances stand in the way.
